through training, education, and direct services.
Values
Neighborhood Dispute Settlement bases seeks to promote the following values in all of its activities:
- Dignity (Human/Personal/Individual): Recognizing that every individual has an innate right to
respect and ethical treatment.
- Integrity (Personal/Procedural): Acting from an internally consistent framework of principles.
- Accountability: Acknowledging and assuming responsibility for actions, decisions, and policies
within the scope of one’s role with the obligation to report, explain and be answerable for resulting consequences.
- Community: Providing people with the skills they need to effect change so as to enable people
to be free enough to share and secure enough to get along.
- Justice: Acting so as to make a victim whole and reintegrate the offender into
society by bringing an offender and a victim together, so that the offender can better understand the effect his/her offense had on the victim.
- Positive Peace: Acting to remove indirect and structural violence.
